Ramesh Recounts the Horror
In an interview quoted by Hindustan Times, Ramesh described the terrifying experience:
“Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly… When I got up, there were bodies all around me. I was scared. I stood up and ran. There were pieces of the plane all around me. Someone grabbed hold of me and put me in an ambulance and brought me to the hospital.”
Visit to India and Tragic Loss of Brother
Ramesh, who has lived in London for 20 years with his wife and child, said he had come to India for a short visit with family. He was returning to the UK with his brother Ajay Kumar Ramesh (45), who was seated in a different row on the same flight.
“We visited Diu. He was travelling with me and I can’t find him anymore,” Ramesh said.
Thrown From the Plane, Survives Among the Debris
According to an AP report, Ramesh was thrown out of the plane and landed near the debris. He then walked to a nearby ambulance for help.
“He was disoriented with multiple injuries all over his body… But he seems to be out of danger,” said Dr. Dhaval Gameti, one of the doctors treating him.
Another medical official reported that Ramesh stated the aircraft began descending rapidly shortly after takeoff and broke apart mid-air, ejecting him from the wreckage before a loud explosion occurred.

Family Members Speak Out
Ramesh managed to call his relatives in Leicester after the crash. His cousin, Ajay Valgi, told the BBC:
“He only said that he’s fine, nothing else. We’re happy he’s OK, but we’re still upset about the other brother.”
Another family member, Nayan Kumar Ramesh, shared with Sky News that Ramesh video called their father moments after the crash:
“He video called my dad as he crashed and said, ‘Oh the plane’s crashed. I don’t know where my brother is. I don’t see any other passengers. I don’t know how I’m alive, how I exited the plane.’”
Conclusion
The survival of Vishwas Kumar Ramesh in the tragic plane crash stands as a remarkable story of fate, resilience, and sheer luck. While his miraculous escape offers a glimmer of hope amid devastation, the loss of other passengers—including his own brother—serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life. As investigations continue and families mourn their loved ones, Ramesh’s account will be a crucial piece in understanding what went wrong and how such tragedies can be prevented in the future. His survival is not just a personal miracle, but a powerful symbol of human endurance in the face of unimaginable horror.
