The conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, during which the PM provided details of Operation Sindoor, which was launched against Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack, had “exposed and embarrassed” the Congress, the BJP said Wednesday.
Following Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s statement to the media regarding a 35-minute conversation between both leaders earlier during the day, the party took on the Congress for questioning Operation Sindoor and for seeking to “derail the national narrative” through statements questioning the role of the US president in brokering peace between both sides.
“This conversation is bad news for the Congress! Ever since the resounding success of Operation Sindoor, the Congress has been busy spreading lies, canards, and confusion —desperate to derail the national narrative.

“But with Prime Minister Modi’s clear and detailed talk with President Trump, the truth is out. No place for middlemen, no scope for spin. Congress stands exposed and embarrassed, once again,” the BJP said in a post on X.
Taking on Trump’s statement regarding the deal that he said he had brokered between both countries following Operation Sindoor, the BJP said, “India neither accepted mediation nor will accept it…#OperationSindoor Trump’s claims on ceasefire between India and Pakistan were rejected!”
Giving details about the events leading up to the conversation and its specifics, the BJP said that the call was made after the scheduled meeting between PM Modi and Trump on the sidelines of the G7 Summit was cancelled due to Trump’s early return to the US.
A detailed phone call took place instead, the BJP said, during which Operation Sindoor was explained to Trump and PM Modi briefed him on India’s targeted military action post the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, underlining that India struck only terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and its response “was measured, precise, and non-escalatory.”

According to the BJP, PM Modi also told the US president about its “new normal” with regard to acts of terrorism, in addition to underlining that Operation Sindoor “is still ongoing”. Besides, the two leaders discussed world affairs, including the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine as well as the hostilities between Israel and Iran.
